THE BEGINNING
In 1975, following transformation of Kärntnerstraße into a pedestrian-friendlyy City center, a new "Würstelstand" was established at Kupferschmiedgasse 1
The location quickly became a popular stop for both locals and visitors, offering traditional Viennese sausages in the heart of Vienna

A VIENNESE INSTITUTION
After more than three decades of service, the original Würstelstand was carefully dismantled in 2009. Although the familiar structure disappeared, it´s long history and importance to Vienna's street food culture remained.
The removal marked the beginning of a new chapter rather than the end of a tradition.

TRADITION MEETS
MODERN DESIGN
Soon after the newly designed Würstelstand was installed at the same location.
The renovation reflected Viennas´s commitment to combining heritage with contemporary urban design with the tradition of Vienna´s best known sausage stand.

Today, the Würstelstand at Kupferschmiedgasse 1 is regarded as one of Vienna´s most iconic and long-established sausage-stands
For more than 5 decades, it has welcomed generations of locals and visitors.
